I see life as a series of moments in which we have opportunities to access, build, and reimagine various aspects of ourselves. Sometimes the events in our lives and the world around us can feel turbulent and overwhelming and on other occasions we might feel a bit stuck. Navigating those challenging circumstances often leads us to unearth and tap into our personal and collective skills, strengths, and resources.
I view our lived experiences as nuanced, contextual, and unique as our inner and outer worlds symbiotically interact with and influence each other. Our distinct ways of thinking, feeling, and behaving that have evolved at various stages of our lives and in the context of our relationships and societal dynamics can be used to enhance our quality of life. As a part of your support system, I will provide a space where you can authentically express yourself, explore the vision for your life, and cultivate the skills and strategies to achieve your goals.
I take responsibility for being culturally competent and responsive to your lived experience as related to your gender identity and expression, race/ethnicity, sexual orientation, spiritual and/or religious beliefs, and ability. My practice is informed by cognitive behavioral, feminist, multicultural, positive psychology, and narrative theory.
